普通は進化とされる変化であっても、創造論的情報論では「情報が増えないから進化ではない」となる。そのように創造論者は"創造論的"遺伝情報量について論じまくる。若い地球の創造論サイトAnswers in Genesisは徹底して論じる。

1. ‘Supergerms’ are actually not ‘super’ at all. They are generally less hardy, and less fit to survive outside of the special conditions in hospitals."情報が増えない"から進化ではないと言う。
2. There are many instances in which germs become resistant by simple selection of resistance which already existed (including that ‘imported’ from other bacteria).
3. Where a mutational defect causes resistance, the survival advantage is almost always caused by a loss of information. In no case is there any evidence of an information-adding, ‘uphill’ change.

Now in gaining an anti-oxidant activity, the protein has lost a lot of activity for making HDLs. So the mutant protein has sacrificed specificity. Since antioxidant activity is not a very specific activity (a great variety of simple chemicals will act as antioxidants), it would seem that the result of this mutation has been a net loss of specificity, or, in other words, information. This is exactly as we would expect with a random change.

His strength is the result of a genetic mutation (an inherited copying mistake in the DNA ‘instructions’) that gives him the extra amount of muscle.

Is this not an example of ‘evolution in action’, a way in which organisms can become ‘bigger and better’? Not at all. It pays to look closely at the nature of the mutation in this case. Normally, muscle growth is well controlled, and one controller is a protein called myostatin or growth/differentiation factor 8 (GDF-8). This new mutation actually switches off the gene that produces myostatin. In other words, an accidental change has switched off something which helps stop muscles from growing in an uncontrolled fashion.
これは、大きいことは良いことだという、まさに起きているの進化の例ではない。まったく違う。この例での突然変異の性質を良く見るべきだ。普通、筋肉の成長はちゃんと制御されていて、ひとつの制御機能はMyostatinあるいは成長分化ファクター8(GDF-8)と呼ばれるタンパク質である。この新しい突然変異は実際には、Myostatinを生成する遺伝子のスイッチを切る。言い換えるなら、偶然の変化で、筋肉の制御されないかたちでの成長を止める何かのスイッチを切ったということだ。

"何かの欠落"であるから、情報の喪失であり、進化ではないという主張である。もはや"欠落"したはずという思いだけ。
こんなのが、Answers in GenesisのMutations Questions and Answersには、えんえんと何とかは進化ではないシリーズが並べ立てられている。"有益"な突然変異と自然淘汰は否定できなくなって、創造論的"情報量の増減"で抵抗するシリーズだ。
ただ、この"進化の証拠ではない"シリーズは、進化論に対する反論ではなく、創造論を信じる人々の心の安寧のために記事といったかんじ。
