You know, you have a point, this gif shows why intelligent design might be more plausible than evolution. The letters got simpler. As time goes on, features are lost. It's almost like the letters are de-evolving.

このgifはインテリジェントデザインが進化論よりも、もっともらしい理由を示している。文字は単純になってきている。時間とともに、特徴は失われている。文字は退化しているようだ。

If you think about it, survival of the fittest is the same way. If we have brown flies and white flies and birds are able to see (and therefore eat) white flies, the fly eventually loses a characteristic. It becomes simpler. Just like the letters. Language is the same way. In greek there's something like 7+ ways to say love. Each one has a distinct meaning. In English we've simplified it to "love". It would not make sense to me that language would start as grunts, get ultra-complex, and then simplify again.

でも、インテリジェントデザイン的に重視するのは情報量のみ。そして、アルファベットの形状とアルファベット一文字が担う情報量には何の関係もない。ということで、gameboyhippoの主張はインテリジェントデザイン的にも無意味なんだけどね。
