正月にはカリフォルニア州の片田舎でインテリジェントデザインを偽装した創造論の授業が始まったが、Discovery Instituteまでが中断要請を出すは、訴えられそうになるはで、撤退。




オクラホマでインテリジェントデザイン前進か

オクラホマの地方局KOTVが掲載した2006年3月3日付けのAssociated Press配信記事「Evolution Bill Stirs Debate On Origin Of Life, Religion 」によれば：

The Oklahoma House has passed a bill encouraging schools to expose students to alternative views about the origin of life.

The measure gives teachers the right to teach "the full range of scientific views on the biological or chemical origins of life." It stops short of requiring the teaching of "intelligent design" alongside the theory of evolution in science classes.

It passed on a 77-to-10 vote Thursday and goes to the state Senate, where similar legislation has been defeated in the past.

生命の起源について代替的見方を生徒に示すことを学校に推奨する州法案がオクラホマ州下院を通過した。

州法案は"生物学的および化学的な生命の起源について全範囲の科学的見方"を教える権利を教師に与える。ただし、理科の授業で進化論とともにインテリジェントデザインを教えることを義務付けるものではない。

州法案は77:10で木曜に州下院を通過し、州上院へ送られた。州上院は同様の法案を過去に否決している。

まいどおなじみの、"インテリジェントデザイン"という名称隠しである。州上院が否決してくれることを期待しているかのような大差での州下院通過。チャレンジ4回目だそうである。ここまでくると創造論な選挙民向け年中行事か？

ミシシッピではインテリジェントデザイン廃案

米国の進化論教育を守る非営利団体National Center for Science Educationの記事「Both antievolution bills in Mississippi now dead」によれば：

Senate Bill 2427 is listed on the Mississippi legislature's website as having died on committee on February 28, 2006. The bill, which was passed by the Senate on February 6, 2006, would have ensured that "no local school board, school superintendent or school principal shall prohibit a public school classroom teacher from discussing and answering questions from individual students on the issue of flaws or problems which may exist in Charles Darwin's Theory of Evolution and the existence of other theories of evolution, including, but not limited to, the Intelligent Design explanation of the origin of life." The other antievolution bill in Mississippi, House Bill 953, died in committee on January 31, 2006.

州上院法案2427は2006年2月28日に委員会で廃案になったとミシシッピ議会サイトにリストされた。2006年2月6日に州上院を通過していた法案は、地域教育委員会や校区教育長や学校長は、公立学校の先生が、チャールズ・ダーウィンの進化論やインテリジェントデザインの生命の起源の説明や存在する他の進化についての理論にあるかもしれない欠陥や問題についての個々の生徒からの質問に答えたり、論じたりするのを禁じることを求めていた。もう一つのミシシッピ反進化論法案である州下院法案953も2006年1月31日に委員会で廃案となっている。

なんのこっちゃらよくわからない反進化論法が消滅したもよう。

メリーランドではインテリジェントデザイン進撃中

米国の進化論教育を守る非営利団体National Center for Science Educationの記事「The other Maryland antievolution bill」によれば：

House Bill 1228 (PDF), introduced in the Maryland House of Delegates on February 10, 2006, would, if enacted, require the state board of education to "prohibit the teaching or the discussion of the theory of intelligent design" in science classes and prohibit it from "requiring the teaching or discussion of the theory of intelligent design in any class." But there's a catch: HB 1228 would also require the board to "permit the teaching or discussion of the theory of intelligent design in humanities or philosophy classes" and moreover require it to develop and disseminate instructional materials for that purpose.

2006年2月10日にメリーランド州下院に提案された州下院法案1228が可決されると、州教育委員会は理科の授業でインテリジェントデザイン理論を教えたり論じたりするのを禁止し、インテリジェントデザインをいかなる授業でも教えることを義務付けることを禁止することを求められる。しかし、注意書きがあって、教育委員会に対して「人文科学や哲学の授業でインテリジェントデザインを教えたり論じたりするのを容認する」ことをと、さらにそのための教材の開発と頒布を求めている。

ちょっと前のユタ州のChris Buttars州上院議員の失敗を見て、さらに姑息なワザを使うメリーランド州下院の法案提案者。
