王立ロンドンホメオパシー病院が、王立ロンドン統合医療病院に名称変更する。

An NHS hospital is dropping the word homeopathy from its title to better reflect its work.
The Royal London Homoeopathic Hospital will now be called the Royal London Hospital for Integrated Medicine.

The Royal London, which is part of University College London Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, introduced acupuncture, herbal medicine and other complementary therapies to the NHS. Some 18% of patients there are treated with homeopathy exclusively, another 53% receive no homeopathy and the reminder are given a mixture of treatments.

A statements said the hospital and its staff had focused on integrated medicine for more than 10 years.

あるNHS病院が、仕事の内容をよりよく反映するように、名称からホメオパシーと言う単語をはずした。"Royal London Homoeopathic Hospitl"はこれからは"Royal London Hospital for Integreted Medicine"と呼ばれることになる。

University College London Hospitals NHS Foundation Trustの一部門であるThe Royal Londonは鍼やハーブなどの補完療法をNHSに持ち込んできた。約18%の患者がホメオパシーのみで、53%がホメオパシー以外で、残りがホメオパシーと他の療法の混合で治療されている。

声明によれば、病院とスタッフは統合医療に10年前からフォーカスしてきたという。

しかし、半数近くの患者にホメオパシー"治療"を行っていて、これは看板の掛け替えという偽装でしかない。

A homeopathic hospital came under attack today after its move to rebrand itself was described as “dishonest”.

The Royal London Homeopathic Hospital, which has been derided by some medical experts as a centre for “witchcraft”, has changed its name, to “better reflect the services it offers”.

But critics of the new Royal London Hospital for Integrated Medicine, say the move it is just “empty rebranding” adding the decision is more likely based on wanting to look “less flaky” in the eyes of NHS trusts funding it.

David Colquhoun, a professor at UCL, said: “To remove the name while retaining the nonsense is simply dishonest.”

ホメオパシー病院が名称変更したことについて、不正直だと言う批判があった。医療の専門家たちがウィッチクラフトだと評してきたRoyal London Homeopathic Hospitalが、「仕事の内容に見合った」名称に変更した。

しかし、この新しいRoyal London Hospital for Integrated Medicineの批判者たちは、この名称変更がN資金供与するNHSトラストの眼に、「あまりに変に見えない」ようにしたいという意図のもとに決定された、空虚なリブランディングであると言う。

University Colleged LondonのDavid Colquhoun教授は「名称を変えても、実態がナンセンスなままなのは、ただの不正直だ」と述べた。
