インドでホメオパスたちがニセ医師行為をしている

インドでは通常医師が不足しており、ホメオパシー学位取得者が通常医療行為を通常病院で行っていることがある。もちろん、それはインドでも違法行為だ。

During the inspection conducted last week at Suyog Hospital, the district administration team found that the doctors were having BHMS degree but didn't have any registration with the MCI [Medical Council of India].

The only MBBS doctor of the hospital had her registration with the Maharashtra Medical Council. At Anand Hospital, a 12th-pass boy worked as a lab technician. During the head counts, the only MBBS found had her degree from a Pakistani university. CMHO, Dr Ashok Dagaria, said, "We can act on hospitals but as of now district administration is carrying out its inspection. Once the report comes to me, I will take action."

この状況に対して、インドMaharashtra州政府は、1年間の速成教育コースにより、アーユルヴェーダ医やユナニ医やホメオパスに通常医療行為を行える資格を与えようとしている。

これは、アーユルヴェーダ医やユナニ医やホメオパスたちによるニセ医師行為の追認である。

The Maharashtra Government's plan to start a year-long course in pharmacology for homeopathic, ayurvedic and unani doctors, to allow them to practise modern medicine, has not gone down well with allopathic practitioners. The Indian Medical Association has opposed the move, saying that the government is endangering the life of the common man by coming up with such a "short cut" course.

"This is nothing but an attempt to legalise quackery. Homeopathy and ayurveda doctors do not learn any concepts of modern medicine that are taught in great detail in the four-year MBBS course. If the state comes up with such short cuts, the life of patients will definitely be at stake," said Dr Jayesh Lele, secretary of IMA.

州政府は、速成教育を、田舎の通常医師不足への対処だと位置付けているが...

State government officials say that the idea behind the course is to increase the number of doctors who can prescribe allopathic medicine to cater to the current shortage of doctors in rural areas.

But IMA[Indian Medical Association] members allege that it is the state government's plan to draw people to ayurveda and homeopathy colleges that are short of students. "Most of these private colleges are owned by politicians and they are running empty," Lele added.
