The Conservatives denied that Darren Millar, their candidate in the north Wales target seat of Clwyd West, made the remarks in a hustings last night.
Other parties said Mr Millar also told the meeting in Ruthin, north Wales, that creationism should be taught in science lessons.

In relation to creationism, the party spokesman said: “Darren said that teachers in faith schools should be given flexibility to include the teaching of creationism in science lessons alongside Darwinism.”
Mr Cameron said: “Personally I don’t support the teaching of creationism.
“I’m a great believer that we need to trust schools and governors of schools to get these things right and I think that’s the right approach.”
創造論について、保守党のスポークスマンは「Darren Millar候補は宗教学校の先生に、理科の授業でダーウィニズムとともに創造論を教えることができる裁量権を与えるべきだと発言したものだ」と言った。
