Unicorn Museum

Answers in Genesisがケンタッキー州に開館したCreation Museumに対抗して、ポッドキャストTHIS WEEK IN SCEICENのホストであるDr. Kirsten SanfordとJustin Jacksonが開設したサイトが、Unicorn Museumである[via Pharyngula]。


コンテンツはほとんどないのだが、とりあえずメインページには

と"Unicorn"の存在の根拠として、ヨブ記39章のKVJの記述を掲げている。


KVJとUnicorn

KJV(King James Version of Bible)のUnicornという記載は誤訳であり、現在の英訳では"OX"であり、日本語訳も"野牛"である。しかし、Answers in Genesis[ie. google search "kjv site:answersingenesis.org]
など創造論ミニストリなどは、このKJVを原典のごとく扱っている。なので、この"Unicorn Museum"では、KJVの"Unicorn"という記述を掲げている。

ただし、すべての創造論ミニストリがこのポジションをとるわけではなく、「恐竜と人類は同時代に存在した」と主張するカナダのサイトBible Caは、KVJは無謬ではないと主張している。

Was the translation process from original languages into English of 1611 A.D. protected from error by direct inspiration of the Holy Spirit?
原語から英語への1611年の翻訳には、聖霊のインスピレーションにより、誤りがなかったか？
"KJV only" advocates say yes! (KVJ Only主張者はYESと言う)
The Facts say NO! (事実はNO!)

また、Answers in Genesisも誤訳については認めている。
